Description: Latina Playwrights and Performance: Theater of Identity and Resistance
This course explores the rich tradition of Latina/o/x and Latin American?diaspora playwriting in the United States. We will read and analyze major works from the 20th and 21st centuries, focusing on themes of identity, language, migration, gender, and social justice. Students will engage with the plays as both literary texts and performance scripts, examining how Latina playwrights use theater as a form of activism and cultural expression.
