Student Employment

Student employment provides Pitzer students with the opportunity to contribute toward their educational costs by working on-campus and select off-campus jobs that align with their professional goals and interests.  Various campus departments manage Pitzer’s student employment: Career Services who posts on-campus jobs, the Office of Human Resources & Payroll Services who processes hiring paperwork and issue checks and Financial Aid who determines work-study eligibility.  Students can find more information about student employment, including information about job postings, hiring procedures, and needed documents at the Student Employment website.

Limit on-campus employment hours while classes are in session:
While on-campus student employment is critical to meet the needs of the community and support the development of students, the academic experience is the core of Pitzer’s mission and the priority for students. Coursework should be prioritized.  Thus, while classes are in session, including exam periods, it is recommended that students work no more than 10-12 hours per week. Students are limited to 20 hours of work per week while classes are in session, including exams periods. Students should not be scheduled to work during their class times.
