CHLT 153 CH -Rural and Urban Social Movements Institution: Pitzer
Description: This course examines “social movements,” as part of people’s collective efforts to create changes in society: their emergence, the process of their formation, and the varied strategies for their mobilization. Although the class will primarily focus on the Farm Worker and Immigrant Rights (day laborer) Movements, the theories, readings, activities, and projects will draw out lessons that are applicable to other social movements as well.
