EA 120 PZ -Remediating Environ. Injustice Description: Remediating Environmental Injustice
Environmental Injustice is pervasive in the United States and across the globe. The world?s most vulnerable populations consistently suffer from overexposure to environmental pollutants. Consider Hurricane Katrina, the Flint Water Crisis in the US, and disproportionate hazardous waste distribution in Sub-Saharan Africa. This course will analyze existing environmental injustice around the world. Students will solve real world environmental problems by applying environmental justice theory, principles and practice to contemporary environmental problems.
During this interactive seminar course, students will engage with political actors, community activists and grass roots organizations to address environmental problems. Students will learn how environmental policy is constructed and implemented.
