EA 097 PZ -Social Production of Space Institution: Pitzer College
Description: Social Production of Space: Landscape and Environment
This class introduces students to the production of the places and landscapes they produce and inhabit. It elaborates interactions between individuals, social groups, and post-human agents and their local and supra-local impact and networks. It examines these interactions within temporalities that stretch centuries and millennia into the past and future, denaturalizing the here and now as frames of analysis. In doing so, this class equips students with the conceptual tools and critical perspectives to recognize the present moment as one of transition and their ability to impact it.
