Description: The course offers an introductory level survey of issues pertaining to international human rights. It will examine the historical, legal, and political frameworks related to global human rights. Specific issues of interest will inlcude, among others, the rights of minorities and indigenous peoples, the rights of refugess, cultural rights, human trafficking and slavery, environmental rights, and genocide. Issues will be examined in both global and national contexts.
