DS 107 PZ -Ethics and Data Science Institution: Pitzer
Description: This course is an introduction to ethical principles and data science. The proliferation of Big Data has created numerous opportunities, but also exposes significant risk to individuals and organizations. Data scientists will need to grapple with questions associated with concerns around identity, privacy, ownership, and analytics. The course will use a case study method to explore the ideas of privacy, surveillance, justice, accountability, and corporate responsibility through the lens of emerging technology. The goal is to tie ethical concepts with data science and analytics to equip you to address ethical concerns even as technology changes.
