Description: Literature of the Holocaust The Holocaust is often positioned in artistic terms at the limits of representation. Yet no other historical event has been represented more often - in every imaginable medium - than the Holocaust. This course will explore the different ways in which the Holocaust has been represented in the literary medium, from autobiographical memoirs to fictionalized accounts to graphic novels. Texts may include The Diary of Anne Frank, This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen, Survival in Auschwitz, Maus, Jacob the Liar (book and film), The Shawl and Still Alive.
