Description: The course investigates broad issues such as the nature of technology and our relationship to it, how technology affects the sense of self and community, its relationship to changing values and how technology is involved in how we think about the future and about the past. An additional goal of the course is to raise awareness of the invisible and ubiquitous technologies around us. Specific areas of focus may include social media, the quantified self-movement, surveillance and design.
