HIST 080 PO -Revolution and Intervention

Institution: Pomona

Description: Revolutions shook the world repeatedly over the course of the twentieth century. The ways that the great powers, particularly the United States, reacted to these momentous events have been central to making the modern world. Efforts to create new societies and power structures or reimpose elite rule have been met with wildly different from reactions from the United States and are key to understanding how our world came to be. From the Mexican Revolution in 1910 to the Honduran Coup 100 years later, this course traces political, social and economic upheavals and interventions that have determined the course of history. Previously offered as HIST028 CH.
