Description: Black People in the Inland Empire
In this course, we trace contemporary demographic changes in the Black population of Southern
California, particularly the shift from Los Angeles county to the Inland Empire. We examine how
Black folx continue to create and organize vibrant communities in the face of red lining, white flight,
gentrification, further economic marginalization and environmental racism.
