Description: This is a survey course intended to cover the history of Africans and their descendants in the Americas from the epoch of the transatlantic Slave Trade until the end of the nineteenth century. The course is divided into two general sections: the slave epoch and emancipation (and its aftermath). (Africa, African Diaspora and Middle East; United States) Previously offered as HIST143 AF.
