PORT 001 PZ -Introductory Portuguese 1 Institution: Pitzer
Description: This is the first semester of a two-semester introductory course in Brazilian Portuguese. It
uses a communicative approach to language learning with an emphasis on interactive
activities and connections to the Brazilian cultural context. Students develop conversational
skills and knowledge of grammatical structures and vocabulary they can apply to real-world
settings. This course is an ideal choice for students without a background in Spanish (or
other Romance languages), students who have never taken a language course before, or
those who wish to have more exposure to the language and a solid base in grammar before
transitioning into the intermediate level.
Prerequisite(s): Please check course schedule for requirements.
For up-to-date information on current course offerings and details, please refer to the Pitzer class schedule on MyCampus2 Portal.
