POLI 135 SC -Political Economy of Food Institution: Scripps
Description: This course will focus on social, cultural, racial and gendered power relations around the production, distribution, consumption, and waste of food in the United States and globally. We will address these issues in an intergenerational partnership with elder co-learners from Pilgrim Place and other elders similarly committed to social justice. Students in this course will register for a 0.5 course credit (4-7 hours per week) co-requisite internship in which they will explore alternative food practices through community engagement projects.
