Description: An upper-division course in quantum mechanics using both analytical and numberical methods to solve problems. Topics include Shroedinger’s wave mechanics, Heisenberg’s matrix formulations, Dirac formalism, hydrogen model, harmonic oscillators, spin and Pauli matrices, perturbation theory. Prerequisites: Differential Equations and/or Linear Algebra, PHYS035 PHYS100 or equivalent, or by permission of instructor. (Prior knowledge of some basic elements or linear algebra - matrices eigenvectors, eigenvalues - is assumed.)
