ORST 105 PZ -Comparative Organizational Forms Institution: Pitzer
Description: Comparative Organizational Forms & Structures
This course engages the comparative method to study organizational forms and structures, as well as the
organization cultures that emerge from them. We will use an art/media narrative form as the primary lens to
engage comparative analysis of organizations; we will examine how they interact with each other, how actors
behave within them resulting in unexpected patterns and outcomes; we will explicate their similarities,
differences, and intersections; and we will attempt to develop contextual theories of organizational
heterogeneity. We will also analyze how social change can inform organizational structures and forms, and vice
versa.
Prerequisite(s): ORST 100 PZ or ORST 135 PZ. Please also check the current course schedule for requirements.
