HIST 026 PZ -Modern US History Since 1877

Description: An analytical and topical introduction to American history, employing a variety of primary historical sources and secondary monographs. Intended for students who may already have taken U.S. history in high school (including AP history), but have no previous college-level background in history. Among the topics to be considered are the corruptions of the Gilded Age, the causes and consequences of both world wars, the Great Depression, the history of race relations (including the Civil Rights movement), Vietnam, and the counterculture of the 1960s and 1970s.
