ECON 140 PZ -Economic Development Institution: Pitzer
Description: While extreme poverty has been declining over the years due to development policies pursued by low and middle-income countries, a significant percentage of the world’s population continues to live on less than $2 a day. In this class, we try to understand the economic lives of the poor by focusing on some quantifiable dimensions that characterize poverty. We analyze factors that keep people trapped in poverty and identify how policies have influenced outcomes.
Prerequisite(s): ECON 051 PZ & ECON 052 PZ Please also check the current course schedule for requirements.
