ASAM 030 PZ -A Taste of Asian American Food Politics: An Exploration of Asian American Identity, Culture and Community Through Food Institution: Pitzer
Description: This seminar course will investigate Asian American Identity, culture and community through the exploration of food. Notions of culture, politics, taste, authenticity, emotions, and memory will be invoked through readings and eatings. This course will explore the origins of Iconic “Asian” food such as Chop Suey and fortune cookies, as well as investigate the relationship of Asian Americans to the labor of production of food and the use of food in Asian American literature.
