ANTH 080 PZ -U.S. Cultures & Society Institution: Pitzer College
Description: Our goal in this course is to defamiliarize our own assumptions and practices, and our ideas about U.S. culture, through readings, films, comparisons of our life experiences, and internships and interviews in the local community. We will discuss childrearing, families, marriage, work, class, consumerism, political cultures, and many other aspects of life, considering diversity and change along with sharing and continuity in the U.S.
You will be expected to participate in at least 40 internship hours over the semester working with one of Pitzer’s community partners.
