Description: Research seminar studies the lives and work of Latinas in the garment industry in southern California, using a historical and comparative approach. Origins of this industry in the U.S., unionization efforts, and impact of globalization on women in plants abroad. Emphasis is on contemporary Latinas working the Los Angeles area.
