MATH 108 PZ - History of Mathematics A survey of the history of mathematics from antiquity to the present. Topics emphasized will include: the development of the idea of proof, the “analytical method” of algebra, the invention of the calculus, the psychology of mathematical discovery and the interactions between mathematics and philosophy.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 031 PZ
