POST 113 PZ -Intro South Asian PoliticsDescription: Modern South Asia has emerged as a dynamic and yet deeply troubled part of the world. The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the basic themes that define contemporary South Asian politics: including, religion and religious violence, terrorism and insurgency, democracy and its discontents, authoritarianism and resistance, power and authority, diversity and nationalism, and status, heirarchy and equality.
