Description: This course examinesglobal mental health from the perspectives of culture, public health, epidemiology, human rights, and intervention. Disciplinary approaches include clinical psychology, cross-cultural psychiatry, medical anthropology, epidemiology, and public health behavioral change. Topics include ethics, stigma, cross-cultural classification of mental health, trauma, political violence, displacement and migration. The course highlights mixed-methods approaches to research and intervention evaluation incorporating quantitative and qualitative approaches.
